Senior Software Development Engineer 2 (Cloud)

What you’ll do:

• Write high quality, stable and test driven software
• Write clear and structured documentation, release notes and RCAs
  
• Take ownership of the features, fixes and improvements to the the Esper Platform
• Recommend and improve existing features
  
• Build and manage deployment automation on supported cloud providers
• Improve Esper Platform by planning, recommending and executing strategic projects
  
• Create standards, guidelines, sample projects, demos to influence engineering teams to write stable, secure, maintainable and quality code
• Break down the long running projects into incrementally deliverable pieces to avoid disruption
  
• Become the Subject Matter Expert(SME) for the Cloud Team
  

What makes you a great fit:

• Experience with managing deployments and creating automation workflows on at least one public cloud
  
• Experience in writing integration with external systems like API’s, DB, message queue etc
• Experience in building, deploying and maintaining scalable distributed systems
• Experience in driving engineering best practices for efficient software development like coding standards, review guidelines, build processes and automation
• Experience in collaborating with the Product team to gather feedback to drive technical decisions
• Hands on coding experience in delivering production quality software
  
• Familiarity or experience in TDD or similar software development methodologies
  
• Experience in building automation workflows using modern devops tools and languages
  
• Experience in managing an application (or part of it) on any cloud provider e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure etc
