Will previous entrepreneurs be a good fit in the PM role?
Entrepreneurial experience is valued highly because it is a growth role which starts from the scratch and worked upwards that has resemble with the role as a PM. Entrepreneurs do well because they can challenge themselves and also the challenge the assumptions of some business principles which clearly is a variation from the traditional PM's from corporate backgrounds as they start with some already built base to continue their plan. From my personal view and experiences things go in favour of entrepreneurs and they have performed better relative to the others.

How can I set myself apart from experienced people and the MBA’s at the interviews when I come as a fresher?
It is important that you focus more on your strengths that set you apart and stop worrying about what others are bringing. As an entrepreneur, your willingness to travel a risky path and take initiatives to drive towards your passion and being aware that you did that can make you strong. Make a story of your experiences and hard learnings to explain your capabilities that demostrates your risk taking ability. Just be a problem solver in the real world and you will be valued.

How to differentiate yourself from the countless competition trying to get into product management?
Get to know the major problems faced in the product mangement and look at companies which are solving these problems and go deep into it by looking at the social media, websites and blogs to get a better idea and contact with the higher personnel like the founder or the CEO to present your view on the problems by suggesting a solution that you can solve so that it doesn't seem like applying to the job. You must always prove your value and worth to recieve some thing you desire. So the solution or the ideology you provided helps them to know your capabilities .Then you can request for a postion in the areas of interest.

Is coming being from a tech or coding background important to get into product management?
It is not actually needed to be good at coding to become a product manager. There are product managers who come from various backgrounds and proved to be significant.It is required for them to work as a team and understand the context and make some suggestions to improve the productivity in terms of the user's knowledge by prioritizing the things and working towards a feasible and flexible strategy in terms of business and strive towrads making it am impactful project.
